Field Service Engineer/ Servicetechniker (w/f/d) Life Science Mass Spectrometry

The main focus of the role is repair, maintenance, installation and qualification of LCMS products at customer sites across the Munich region. Assignments in other regions of Germany as well as in other European countries are occasionally possible.

The position is home-based within the Region, greater Munich area preferred, with flexible working hours.

A day in the Life:

• Perform troubleshooting, maintenance, repair and installation on LC/MS systems.
• Conduct customer briefings regarding basic maintenance and operation of systems. Precise technical and organizational preparation and execution of assigned service visits or travel activities with an eye on economic aspects.
• Keep track and maintain local spare parts inventory.
• Ensure that all documentation related to an on-site support activity is completed accurately and submitted on a timely basis. This includes maintenance of electronic files, Field Service Reports, Service Work Orders and Quotes.
• Technical application support for customers
• Sales support for service products such as service contracts, validations and upgrades.
• Ensuring the high-quality standard within the service organization

Keys to Success:
Education
Experience as a service technician or completed vocational training in a profession with a technical/application background such as electronics technician, chemical laboratory technician, CTA, electrical and chemical engineer, or comparable qualification. Alternatively, completed technical or scientific studies.

Experience

• Background in Environmental science, Chemistry or Biochemistry preferred.
• Experience in technical services on electronic scientific instruments desired.

Knowledge, Skills, Abilities

• Excellent technical skills and excellent with software, electrical, and mechanical systems.
• Diagnostic skills using inquiries, observations, system schematics & documentation, software tools, and communications / electrical diagnostic aids.
• Ability to think critically, learn new technologies, cultivate collaboration, clearly document requirements, and deliver results.
• Excellent interpersonal skills; must have a professional working proficiency in German and English.
• Organization, planning and time management skills.
• Very good hardware and software knowledge, especially of Windows operating systems and applications as well as the Microsoft Office package
• Driving license required.
• Ability to travel up to 75%
